Cerasuola, Nocellara del Belice, Biancolilla
The territory of the province of Trapani is the land of good extra virgin olive oil. In fact, olive growing here has ancient roots, now recognized by the DOP Valli Trapanesi, in whose area fall the entire olive groves of the family Titone.
The farm was one of the first in Sicily to convert to organic farming by adopting, since the eighties, systems of recovery and enhancement of natural resources, for example, recovering rainwater for irrigation of land, thanks to the presence of an artificial lake filled naturally by rain and water drainage of land and roofs of the cottages.
The Titone family has always paid particular attention to human health. It is no coincidence that they have been pharmacists for generations, with a passion for agriculture and olive growing in particular.
Today the Titone company produces two types of extra virgin olive oil – obtained from olives of the Cerasuola, Nocellara del Belice and Biancolilla cultivars – harvested by hand and ground after a few hours in the company’s oil mill. The Titone family has managed to create an oil that has inside the millenary scents of this part of Sicily, obtaining awards around the world.
