We are in Rossano, an ancient Byzantine city, in the enchanting Mediterranean landscape of the high Ionian Sea, just 5 minutes from the city centre and its beautiful beaches. Ideal starting point to visit Calabria and the south of Basilicata where sea and mountains meet for a journey of discovery of a territory rich in traditions, history, art, nature and good food.
Here we find the farm Tenuta Terra Rossa around an ancient manor house with a square plan, on three levels, with courtyard and well, a former monastery built between the end of 1500 and the beginning of 1600, first ecclesiastical property and then the family Renzo. The land covers about 50 hectares, part dedicated to the cultivation of olive trees “La Dolce di Rossano”, from which is produced an excellent and renowned oil, and part citrus grove.
The Renzo family has always been attentive to the search for product quality and biological balance of plants and every year the company is subject to strict controls by the authorities responsible for issuing organic certificates.
For lovers of history you can immerse yourself in the past by visiting the archaeological sites of Sybaris, Swamps, the Aragonese Castle of Corigliano and the various Arbreshe communities in the area. For mountain lovers just over an hour from Rossano you can reach the National Parks of Sila and Pollino where you can go climbing, hiking, mountain biking, rafting and many other outdoor activities.
